About Azure
Azure is an emerging company which is dedicated to developing a renewable fuels facility (the "Facility") which will primarily produce sustainable aviation fuel (“SAF”), as well as have the ability and flexibility to produce renewable diesel (RD), renewable naphtha (RN) and renewable propane (RLPG). At nameplate capacity the Facility will produce approximately 1.1 billion litres per year of renewable fuels.
As a primary feedstock, the Facility will utilize Canadian canola oil to produce these renewable fuels and may, from time to time, utilize various other types of feedstocks including, but not limited to, animal fats, used cooking oils and soybean oil.
The primary objective is to develop, design and construct a Canadian domiciled renewable distillate fuels facility to provide a Canadian source of SAF and related renewable fuels to meet domestic and international mandates related to the reduction of CO2 emissions generated from the “hard-to-decarbonize” transportation industries. As a secondary objective, the development of the Facility provides for a secure domestic market for Canadian agriculture products.
As the primary rationale, the Facility will produce the low carbon fuels required to meet regulations focused on the reduction in CO2 emissions from the “hard-to-decarbonize” transportation industries. Specific to the aviation industry, advancements in alternative energy sources are not expected to be commercially viable for the foreseeable future. SAF has been approved, is in use and has exhibited an ability for aviation fuel users to lower their carbon emissions by up to ~80% vs. traditional fossil-based jet fuel. As regulations currently favor the production of RD over SAF, efforts to advance dedicated SAF facilities have lagged the development of RD production. Development of dedicated SAF facilities will allow for a supply of low carbon aviation fuel, which provides a solution for the aviation industry to meet the targets set out by CORSIA, as well as corporately.
Azure will be accepting applications until the job is filled.
